The Department of Economics started its journey since 1994 with the inception of the college. The Department has been relentlessly imparting the knowledge of economics with a special reference to the present structure of the local, regional and national economy. In the beginning, only pass course economics was taught while since 2015-16 session Honours Course was introduced in the Department. There are two teachers (Permanent) in the department and involved in both classroom teaching and extracurricular activities with full enthusiasm.

The objective of the department of Philosophy is to provide excellent integrated education to students. The department always encourages students to approach education as a continuous learning process so that they are capable of participating in and understanding the world of the 21st century. The department serves this objective by guiding students to acquire knowledge.

• The department aims to improve the results of the students with more creative learning techniques.
• The department has been always striving in taking more initiatives to impart value based education and practical expertise to the students.
• The Department gives more stress on objective tool based teaching so that employability among students increase and placement opportunities as well.
